General Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance staff across all facilities.
• Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Ensure all safety regulations and practices are adhered to by the maintenance team.
• Evaluate the efficiency of maintenance operations and make necessary adjustments.
• Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and reorder as needed.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify issues.
• Provide training and assistance to maintenance staff to improve their skills.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance work.
• Handle emergency repairs and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Prepare and manage the maintenance budget effectively to control costs.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental laws and codes.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment repairs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; further technical education is preferred.
• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a maintenance department.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other core systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are a must.
• Ability to manage a team effectively while maintaining scheduled goals.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team and vendors.
• Must be knowledgeable about health, safety, and environmental regulations.
