A General Maintenance Technician is a versatile professional responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and safety of facilities by conducting routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance. This role requires a diverse skill set to manage various tasks related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, carpentry, and general building upkeep. A Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in fixing issues proactively before they become major problems, ensuring that the facility remains functional and comfortable for all occupants. The technician will typically work both indoors and outdoors, often in different weather conditions, and should be able to troubleshoot and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks across multiple building systems and features.
• Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.
• Respond promptly to maintenance tickets and repair requests from building occupants.
• Complete electrical and plumbing maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with codes.
• Conduct safety checks and implement necessary updates for all systems and equipment.
• Assist in the installation, repair, and upkeep of HVAC systems to ensure efficiency.
• Maintain and repair buildings various carpentry needs, including doors and windows.
• Keep records of repairs and updates for reporting and improvement purposes.
• Collaborate with external contractors for bigger projects as and when required.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities.
• Manage tools and parts inventories, ordering replacements as needed to avoid shortages.
• Provide support for emergency maintenance tasks outside of regular work hours.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role.
• Solid understanding of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to work well with hands and complete physical tasks efficiently.
• Competency in using various tools, equipment, and heavy machinery safely.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills are a necessity.
• Good communication skills to interact with occupants and management effectively.
