Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operational aspects of the Road Construction Division, ensuring projects meet deadlines and budget constraints to maximize profitability.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand market share and identify new business opportunities within the asphalt and surfacing industry.
  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement in project management.
  • Manage and optimize resource allocation, including equipment, materials, and personnel, to ensure operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the Ministry, private clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor project performance, analyze financial reports, and implement corrective actions to address any deviations from the plan.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices on every project site.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage bids, and oversee the procurement process to secure favorable terms and maintain cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive innovation in asphalt and surfacing techniques, exploring new technologies and materials to enhance project quality and efficiency.
  • Represent the division at industry events and conferences, promoting the company's brand and building relationships with key stakeholders.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, demonstrating a strong technical foundation.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the asphalt and surfacing industry, showcasing a deep understanding of the business.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale asphalt and surfacing projects, demonstrating project management expertise.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze financial statements, manage budgets, and drive profitability.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of asphalt mix design, paving techniques, and quality control procedures, highlighting technical proficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements, showcasing a commitment to operational excellence.
  • Possess relevant certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP), indicating professional credentials.
  • A proactive and results-oriented individual with a strong work ethic, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
