Job Description
Overview
The GIS Engineer (Geospatial & Data Analysis) is responsible for managing, analyzing, and visualizing geospatial data to support multidisciplinary projects. The role focuses on delivering accurate mapping, environmental analysis, and digital solutions while supporting data integration and visualization across projects.
Your role
- Manage and maintain geospatial datasets, including external GIS data and internally managed databases (e.g., EQUIS)
- Support multidisciplinary projects through GIS data management, spatial analysis, mapping, and reporting
- Prepare environmental and technical drawings such as:
- Site and utility location plans
- Cross-sections and contour maps
- Presentation drawings based on engineering inputs
- Develop 2D and 3D visualizations, perform volume calculations, and conduct spatial analysis
- Support the development and maintenance of GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Online)
- Create and manage digital tools such as Survey123 forms, Collector maps, and interactive web maps/applications
- Assist in integrating GIS data with AutoCAD Map 3D and other engineering tools
- Collaborate with engineering and environmental teams to support project delivery
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and alignment with project requirements
- Contribute to improving workflows and geospatial data processes
About you
- Bachelor s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in GIS, geospatial analysis, or a similar role
- Proficiency in GIS tools such as ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Survey123, and Collector
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Map or similar drafting tools
- Familiarity with databases and programming tools such as Python, SQL Server, R, or JavaScript (preferred)
- Experience in environmental, hydrological, or geospatial projects is an advantage
- Experience with 3D visualization, volume calculations, and spatial analysis
- Knowledge of GPS systems, field surveying techniques, and data collection tools is a plus
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
