Roles & Responsibilities
The DRC Global Supply Chain Team is anchored within the Disaster & Crisis Response unit in the International Department, and is part of a structure supporting not only response activities but also long-term programming.

International Department in the Danish Red Cross supports vulnerable people in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, in close cooperation with Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in more than 30 countries, and have an annual turnover of more than 750 million Danish kroner. We work specifically on building preparedness and response capacity. DRC works both with long term activities and short-term response particular within health, disaster preparedness and response.
Desired Candidate Profile
Experience: Minimum 5 years in supply chain activities, especially medical procurement, supply chain management, and warehousing. Humanitarian aid experience is essential, ideally with knowledge of the RCRC Movement. Experience from the MENA region and knowledge of local markets is an advantage.
Problem-Solving Agility : A "Plan B and Plan C" mindset essential for when a primary border crossing closes, a cold-chain shipment is diverted or delayed, which caused back-donor (Partner) regulations to deem the shipment ineligible.
Sanction Navigation : Manage the logistical hurdles created by international sanctions, including "over-compliance" from shipping lines and payments which delay the procurement of critical parts
Diplomatic Resilience: The ability to maintain a professional, neutral stance when faced with significant bureaucratic resistance or political pressure.
Skills: Strong analytical and negotiation skills, excellent communication and coordination abilities, and proficiency in MS applications.
Languages: English mandatory. Arabic is preferred.
Residency: Must be able to travel to the countries of operation in the MENA region.
Personal Qualities: Resilient, flexible, patient, and diplomatic. Strong cultural understanding and ability to work in multicultural environments are crucial.
