Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager – Electronics (Distribution & Retail) to lead our electronics business operations in Oman. The incumbent will have full P&L responsibility and will drive business growth across multiple channels — including wholesale, retail, and modern trade. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of the GCC market dynamics, with proven experience in managing distribution networks, retail operations, and vendor relationships in the consumer electronics sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Management:
- Develop and execute the business strategy for the electronics division in line with organizational goals.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share through effective planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Take full ownership of the P&L, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
- Identify new business opportunities, product lines, and potential partnerships to expand market presence.
Operations & Distribution Management:
- Oversee distribution channels and ensure optimal inventory levels across all outlets and warehouses.
- Build and manage relationships with key suppliers, OEMs, and distributors.
- Streamline supply chain operations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement effective sales and channel management strategies across retail and wholesale markets.
Retail Management:
- Oversee the retail network, ensuring top-tier customer experience and operational excellence.
- Monitor store performance, sales, and profitability across locations.
- Lead retail expansion and ensure alignment with brand and financial objectives.
People & Performance Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales and operations team.
- Set clear KPIs, monitor performance, and drive accountability.
- Foster a results-oriented culture focused on excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as required.
- Provide regular business and financial reports to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 12–15 years of experience in consumer electronics (distribution and retail), with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or GM role.
- Proven experience in managing P&L and driving business growth in a competitive market.
- Strong understanding of the GCC market, particularly Oman and neighboring countries.
- Experience managing both distribution and retail channels (multi-brand and/or exclusive brand operations).
- Excellent vendor management, negotiation, and commercial acumen.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
