Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the financial pulse of the daily operation. The scope encompasses the full cycle of daily revenue auditing (Income Audit), managing the "Accounts Payable" process for golf-specific vendors, and overseeing the "Accounts Receivable" for membership billing and corporate events. The Finance Officer must ensure that the Point of Sale (POS) data perfectly matches the banking and ledger entries, identifying and resolving discrepancies immediately to protect the asset s profitability.

Income Audit & Revenue Control

  • Perform the daily "Night Audit" reconciliation of all golf, retail, and academy revenues, ensuring all POS transactions (Credit Card, Cash, Member Charge) balance with the Property Management System (PMS).
  • Investigate and report on all voids, discounts, and complimentary items processed by operational staff to ensure compliance with authorisation policies.
  • Prepare the "Daily Flash Report" for the General Manager and Department Heads, highlighting key revenue statistics (RevPAR, Average Tee Time Yield, Retail Spend per Head).
  • Audit physical inventory counts in the Pro Shop and F&B outlets, identifying variance causes (shrinkage, waste, or data entry error).

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process invoices from suppliers (e.g., Titleist, Callaway, turf equipment maintenance), ensuring 3-way matching (Purchase Order, Receiving Note, Invoice) before payment authorisation.
  • Manage the billing for corporate golf days and tournaments, ensuring deposits are collected in advance, and final invoices are settled post-event promptly.
  • Maintain the Member Ledger, processing monthly statements and following up on aged debt with tact and professionalism.
  • Reconcile supplier statements monthly to ensure no disruption in the supply chain for critical retail or agronomy goods.

Cash Handling & Banking

  • Manage the main safe and issuance of daily floats to the Retail and Reception teams.
  • Conduct surprise cash counts at front-line operational points to ensure float integrity.
  • Prepare daily banking deposits and coordinate with the security provider for cash-in-transit collections.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Minimum of 3 5 years of experience in a finance role, preferably within the hospitality, leisure, or golf industry.
  • Experience with inventory management and cost control is essential.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) or working towards one is advantageous.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Experience with Golf/Club Management Software (Lightspeed, Golf Genius) is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in enterprise accounting software (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).

Core Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: The ability to look at a spreadsheet and instantly spot anomalies or trends that look "off."
  • Integrity: Uncompromising ethical standards when handling cash and sensitive financial data.
  • Communication: The ability to explain financial rules to non-financial operational staff (e.g., explaining to a Pro why a PO is needed) without causing friction.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in data entry and reconciliation; a "zero tolerance" mindset for unallocated variance.
  • Time Management: The ability to meet strict daily, weekly, and monthly reporting deadlines regardless of operational volume
