Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Ensure effective implementation of governance and compliance requirements across MDO and its subsidiaries.
Align governance practices with OIA policies, national laws, and international best practices.
Monitor adherence to internal processes, procedures, and delegation of authorities.
Ensure compliance with board charters, meeting protocols, and decision-making processes.
Track and report on board and committee compliance metrics.
Develop and maintain governance and compliance reporting tools and dashboards.
Prepare periodic reports for internal stakeholders, OIA, and relevant government authorities.
Monitor corrective actions and escalate non-compliance issues appropriately.
Liaise with internal departments, executive management, and subsidiaries to ensure governance alignment.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews.
Act as a point of contact for OIA and government authorities on governance-related matters.
Design and deliver governance and compliance awareness programs across MDO and subsidiaries.
Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and transparency.
Monitor and interpret emerging laws, regulations, and directives from governmental authorities and OIA.
Advise management on implications and required actions to ensure ongoing compliance.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Law, Business Administration, Public Policy, or related field
Experience:
Minimum 7 years of experience in governance, compliance, or risk management, preferably in the public investment or mining sector.
Strong understanding of Omani regulatory environment and OIA governance frameworks.
Proven ability to develop and implement governance frameworks and compliance tools.
Experience in board governance and corporate secretarial support is preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
Excellent knowledge of corporate governance principles and compliance standards.
Excellent assessment & Interpretation skills.
Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
High ethical standards and integrity.
Proficiency in governance software and reporting tools.
Fluent in Arabic and English.
