Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Establish and develop menus and compose dishes.
  • Organizes and coordinates the work of cooks and other staff to ensure economical and technically perfect preparation while respecting labor cost objectives.
  • Approves requisitions for necessary food products and supplies
  • Ensures the maintenance of high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety in all kitchen areas, at all times
  • establishes controls to minimize waste, supply losses and theft
  • D develops standard recipes and preparation/presentation techniques to ensure consistent quality and minimize food costs
  • Prepares budget data; forecasts annual costs (food, labor, etc.) and monitors actual financial results
  • Take the necessary corrective measures to achieve the financial objectives
  • Consult the Director of Catering on the technical aspects of special events.
  • Cooks or directly supervises the preparation of dishes requiring special expertise
