Roles & Responsibilities
Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Head of Department (HOD) Emergency Medicine Consultant to lead a high-volume Emergency Department within a leading healthcare organization in Dubai. This strategic leadership role combines clinical excellence, trauma expertise, governance oversight, and departmental leadership to drive quality, safety, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level emergency medicine care and oversight for complex and high-acuity cases
- Lead, manage, and develop the Emergency Medicine department, including consultants, specialists, and clinical staff
- Oversee trauma services, emergency preparedness, and disaster management protocols
- Establish and maintain clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety standards
- Drive departmental strategy, service development, and performance improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies
- Lead morbidity & mortality meetings, audits, and clinical education programs
- Act as a key stakeholder in hospital leadership and multidisciplinary committees
Desired Candidate Profile
Residency training completed in Australia or the USA
- Native English speaker
- Recognized Consultant qualification in Emergency Medicine
- Minimum of 5 10 years post-consultant experience, with proven leadership or HOD-level exposure
- Strong background in trauma management, clinical governance, and team leadership
- Valid or eligible DHA Consultant license
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (mandatory)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
