Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive specialist Internal Medicine care in accordance with best-practice clinical guidelines and Al-Futtaim Health Medical Staff Bylaws

  • Conduct thorough patient consultations to assess symptoms, medical history, and overall health concerns

  • Diagnose and manage acute illnesses, including bacterial and viral infections, as well as chronic medical conditions

  • Prescribe and manage medications, therapeutic interventions, and preventive care plans

  • Clearly explain diagnoses, recommended investigations, procedures, and treatment options to patients

  • Monitor patient progress, evaluate clinical outcomes, and adjust management plans as necessary

  • Provide health promotion and wellness advice, including lifestyle modification and disease prevention strategies

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation and records

  • Refer patients to appropriate specialists when clinically indicated

  • Support and manage patients requiring long-term or ongoing medical care

  • Participate equitably in the on-call roster, as applicable

  • Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental development activities

  • Engage in continuing medical education and remain current with advancements in Internal Medicine

  • Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements

  • DHA-licensed or DHA-eligible Specialist in Internal Medicine

  • Strong clinical competence across General Internal Medicine in an OPD setting

  • Comfortable managing both acute and chronic medical conditions

  • Experience in a busy outpatient or community clinic environment

  • Fluency in Arabic (spoken – essential) and English (spoken and written)

  • Excellent communication skills with patients and multidisciplinary teams

  • Patient-focused, ethical, and quality-driven approach to clinical practice

  • Team-oriented, reliable, and adaptable

  • Familiarity with community-based patient populations is an advantage

Qualifications and Experience

  • MBBS / MBChB or equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Completion of a recognised specialty qualification approved by DHA, HAAD, or MOH (UAE)

  • Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience at Specialist level

  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification

  • Fluency in Arabic (essential) and English (spoken and written)

  • Strong computer literacy skills

  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals (advantageous but not mandatory)
