Roles & Responsibilities

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the financial accounting and reporting function of the company.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable regulations in Oman.
  • Maintain the general ledger, fixed asset accounting, and financial records.
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Develop and maintain internal accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Support capitalization of project construction costs and asset commissioning during the construction phase.
  • Ensure proper accounting for inventory, biological assets, and production costs during the operational phase.
  • Supervise the accounting team and ensure efficient workflow and professional development.

Job Summary: The Head of Financial Accounting and Reporting is responsible for leading the company's accounting operations and financial reporting activities, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records in accordance with IFRS and applicable regulatory requirements in Oman. The role oversees the preparation of statutory financial statements, manages the accounting team, and ensures strong internal controls, proper asset capitalization, and accurate accounting for operational activities, including inventory, biological assets, and production costs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting and 3 years of management experience like this role.
