Main Role (Overall accountability):

Be the leader of fixed income portfolio of Proprietary Investments Department and manage the portfolio including purchases and exits of fixed income securities and formulation and execution of suitable strategies to optimize the risk-return of the portfolio to the Bank.

Key Accountabilities:

Supervise the origination and execution of all transactions and ongoing management of fixed income portfolio.

Ensure that the business follows the approval processes for purchases and exits of securities as set out in applicable policies

Manage, and coordinate with, the team members for the delivery of the overall objectives of the business, as needed.

Monitor the performance of the fixed income portfolio regularly and craft and execute appropriate strategies to improve its performance.

Steer the business development including origination of new deals (acquisition and exits).

Act as a key point of contact for all existing and potential clients of fixed income business and develop and maintain senior level relationships.

Interact with regulators (such as CBO, CMA, MSM), as needed, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements as well as internal policies.

Coordinate with the Business Management team for internal audits, submission of responses to any questions as requested by internal or external parties, etc.

Propose the strategy of fixed income business for internal approvals and lead the execution of the approved strategy.

Prepare the budget for the fixed income business and submit for approvals and steer the business towards achieving the budget.

Ensure timely circulation of updates of the business to the IC and Board of Directors.

Provide regular updates of the business to the supervisors.

Encourage cross-sell initiatives by the fixed income business within IBCM as well as to other divisions of the Bank.

Provide guidance and feedback to team members and support team members as appropriate.

Propose the talent management, performance management, HR and recruitment requirements of fixed income business and supervise the execution as per the approved plan.
