Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and management of the primary mathematics department.
  • Develop, review, and implement a high-quality mathematics curriculum that meets curriculum standards and promotes student achievement.
  • Support, coach, and mentor math teachers to enhance instructional practices and professional growth.
  • Monitor and analyse student progress data to inform teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Lead the development and integration of innovative teaching methods and resources in mathematics.
  • Coordinate assessment schedules, moderation, and reporting for the mathematics department.
  • Organize professional development sessions related to mathematics teaching for department staff.
  • Collaborate with other academic leaders to ensure a cohesive and enriching learning environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of curriculum developments and best practices in mathematics education.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s Degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or head of department role, preferably within the British Curriculum.
  • Proven expertise and passion for teaching mathematics at the primary level.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team of educators.
  • Familiarity with data-driven instructional practices and assessment strategies.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and educational excellence.
  • Willingness to relocate to Cairo, Egypt if not local.
