Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Demonstrate personal SHES leadership and excellent SHES behaviours at all times.
Perform as a safety leader through exhibiting the highest safety standards of behavior to the workforce.
Actively participate in Toolbox Talks, Task Instructions and site safety walkthroughs.
Ensure Contractors discipline activities are conducted in accordance with local regulatory requirements, codes and standards, project specifications and industry practices.
Check, review and appraise all mechanical data sheets developed by Contractor are in compliance with project scopes and requirements and identify potential risks to project if any.
Manage Contractor's Mechanical disciplines resources and to ensure work completion on time.
Depending on the design phase (FEED or Detailed Design), the role holder shall be responsible ensuring that all comments and issues raised during the design review session for the mechanical disciplines are properly recorded, tracked, and closed out in a timely manner to support the overall project schedule and design quality.
Participate in various project's workshop such as Plot Plan/Layouts, Constructability and 3D model reviews.
Track and report of lessons learned in defined area of responsibility.
The role holder shall be responsible for identifying, tracking, and implementing all improvements derived from lessons learned, particularly those related to existing plant sections as provided by the Operations Department.
For mechanical discipline, it will be the role holder's responsibility to ensure that such improvements are effectively incorporated into the design deliverables.
Monitor Contractor progress.
For the mechanical discipline, the role holder shall be accountable for monitoring and ensuring timely issuance of documents listed in the Master Document Register.
Provide support in preparation of Static equipment spare part identification and quantification.
Provide support in the coordination of change management process and analysis of change orders.
Prepare recommendations or position papers as required.
Support risk management program through identification of risks / issues / trends as well as development and tracking planned mitigation actions.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
10 years experience in Engineering roles, including 6 years in the Oil & Gas Industry, and including 2 years experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractor / subcontractors / service / vendor personnel.
Extensive experience with Oil & Gas Companies, EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, or service companies involved in the oil and gas industry.
Broad experience and demonstrated competence in managing across all phases of project execution including start up and handover, and managing technical issues.
Broad knowledge in project planning, scheduling, cost control, project gating system, project execution plan, risk management, change management, interface management, commissioning, and hand over processes/procedures.
Extensive knowledge across engineering disciplines, international engineering standards, specifications, design, and execution methodologies.
Strong experience with risk assessment approach in decision making.
Proven experience in technology adoption and implementation of continuous improvement
Experience in designing pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, and storage tanks, and familiarity with relevant software and standards such as ASME, API, and TEMA.
Deep knowledge of industry codes, standards and practices for machinery discipline
