Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Mission, the Head of Programmes (HoP) will coordinate the development and implementation of IOM s programmes/projects in Algeria, in close coordination with relevant Project Coordinator/Manager and in coordination with Regional Office (RO) Migrant Protection Division (MPX), Regional Thematic Specialist (RTS) on institutional matters.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in the development and/or humanitarian sector at the international level dealing with the full range of IOM interventions;
- Demonstrated successful management track record;
- Sound knowledge of project cycle as well as of monitoring and evaluation;
- Sound knowledge of financial and business administration;
- Experience in liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities as well as with international institutions; and,
- Demonstrated successful fund-raising track record Good level of computer literacy is essential.
Skills
- Proven skills in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and establishing and maintaining working relations with senior government officials, UN agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Donors; and,
- Computer/software literate, preferably knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop.
Languages
IOM's official languages are English, French, and Spanish. All staff members are required to be fluent in one of the three languages.
For all applicants, fluency in English and French is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of Arabic, and of another UN official language (Chinese, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Desired Candidate Profile
Education
- Master s degree in Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or
- University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.
