Main missions:  

• Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Section Manager is responsible for the complete management of purchases of raw materials (raw wood, sawn timber, panels, derivatives), consumables and services necessary for the company's activity. He/she guarantees the continuity of supplies while optimizing costs, deadlines and quality.

Main points:

• Define needs in collaboration with production, logistics and design offices
• Develop and implement the wood materials purchasing strategy (local and imported species)
• Prospect, select and evaluate suppliers (local and international)
• Negotiate prices, deadlines, purchasing conditions and framework contracts
• Oversee orders and supplies (just in time or stock)
• Monitor the quality of deliveries and manage supplier disputes
• Monitor wood markets (price, availability, regulations: FSC, PEFC)
• Participate in the quality, safety and environment (QSE) process
• Supervise a team of buyers or purchasing assistants depending on the size of the department
