Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Capital School Bahrain is seeking to appoint an experienced, confident and strategic Head of Secondary to lead the Secondary phase as the school continues its rapid growth and development.

This is a senior leadership role for an established secondary leader with previous Head of Secondary or equivalent senior leadership experience, who can drive high standards of teaching and learning, strengthen systems and structures, and lead the phase through continued expansion, including KS4 consolidation and KS5 development.

The post is available immediately.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic and operational leadership of the Secondary phase

  • Leading and line-managing middle and senior leaders within Secondary

  • Driving high-quality teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4

  • Overseeing curriculum delivery, assessment, and student outcomes

  • Using data effectively to raise attainment and progress

  • Ensuring high standards of behaviour, attendance, and pupil wellbeing

  • Working closely with the Principal and wider leadership team to support whole-school priorities

  • Playing a key role in the development and readiness for Sixth Form provision

Desired Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Proven experience in a senior secondary leadership role (Head of Secondary, Deputy Headteacher, or equivalent)

  • Strong understanding of the English National Curriculum, IGCSE, and post-16 pathways

  • A successful track record of raising standards and leading teams

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

  • A strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing
