Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Advising entities and external clients on VAT matters, delivering timely, practical, and accurate tax advice across a wide range of business activities.
Leading the implementation of UAE e-Invoicing within the company and supporting affected stakeholders through the transition.
Advising on transactional matters, including acquisitions and disposals, covering structuring, due diligence, and reviewing legal documentation in collaboration with internal legal, finance teams, and external advisors.
Providing ongoing VAT advisory support on financing, refinancing, mergers, restructurings, and operational changes, ensuring tax risks are identified and managed appropriately.
Overseeing VAT compliance processes, including review of VAT filings, ensuring obligations are met, and best practices are followed.
Managing relationships with external advisors and the UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA), including handling audits, enquiries, and dispute matters.
Driving internal tax governance, process improvements, and training initiatives to enhance VAT awareness across the organisation.
Desired Candidate Profile
Strong VAT advisory background with significant UAE VAT experience, ideally gained within a Big 4 accounting firm or law firm.
Minimum of eight years’ experience, currently operating at a manager or senior manager level or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience in providing high-quality, practical VAT advice in a fast-paced environment, including working closely with cross-functional teams.
Experience dealing with tax authorities, including handling audits, disputes, and formal correspondence.
Exposure to tax risk management, compliance oversight, and governance frameworks.
Knowledge of UAE Corporate Income Tax is advantageous.
Relevant academic background in tax, law, accounting, or a related field.
Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.
Ability to quickly understand complex issues, distil key tax implications, and communicate clearly to non-tax stakeholders.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven, with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
