Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Head of Training reports to the Managing Director. He is responsible for the overall day-to-day supervision of ECFT training programs to ensure adherence to regulatory certification rules and requirements, and ECFT standards, policies, and procedures. The incumbent should possess managerial and leadership skills. The Head of Training follows the CAE Global Training Standards and works with the network incorporating and sharing best practices.

Management

1. Guide, lead and empower the Training Managers to oversee all training and performance matters for both clients and instructors.

2.Champion improvements and enhancements of processes and materials affecting the ATO.

3.Design and lead strategic initiatives to address any people, standards, or clients concerns in coordination with other stakeholders in the company, and in the network.

Compliance

1.Ensure quality and standard of training given by training staff complies with specific rules and regulations of UAE GCAA CAR-FCL, CFR Part 142, EASA and other NCAA s approvals for ECFT wet training.

2.Ensure satisfactory integration of flight simulation training device (FSTD) and theoretical knowledge instruction.

3.Monitor process and procedures to determine their effectiveness and maintain standardization, where applicable between the Training Centers.

4.Work with Quality/Compliance Monitoring to ensure that all issues of non-compliances are addressed.

Support the ATO Safety Manager promoting the safety culture of the company.

New Hires and Personnel Development

1.Collaborate with HR and TMs on the design of the recruitment process and practices to ensure we have the right set up to ensure the best selection of talent.

2.Ensure appropriate appointments of training managers, lead instructors and flight simulator instructors.

3.Develop and deliver performance reviews for assigned personnel (TMs, Regulatory Leads); and any escalated instructor issue.

Planning Tasks

1.Ensure the current available instructors and evaluator staff are suitably qualified to undertake the budgeted and forecasted wet training, testing and checking tasks.

2.Manage instructors, equipment, and facilities scheduling to meet budgeted and forecasted wet training requirements in the most efficient, yet regulatory and ECFT standards compliant manner; in ongoing collaboration with scheduling & planning department

Interaction

1.Regular communication with all Regulatory Authorities to ensure compliance 2.Communication with clients as and when required.

3.Collaboration with CAE Global Training Stanards and other Global Teams

4.Collaboration with Scheduling & Planning department & senior management to achieve strategic goals & OKRs

5.Report back revision needs on all ATO courseware and manuals.

Additional Requirements:

  • Former Instructor and or Examiner
  • Former standards, management or mentorship experience
  • Former people leader of moderate to large Team size
  • Positive attitude toward complex and challenge issue resolution
  • Ability to work with MS Office tools with modern examples of moderate proficiency
  • Shall have extensive experience as an instructor in the areas relevant for the training provided by the ATO. Hold or have held in three years a professional license and ratings issued in accordance with ICAO Annex 1 related to the flying courses conducted.
