Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

· Ensure compliance with local health, safety, civil defense, municipal, and other regulatory requirements

· Manage Civil Defense certification, inspections, and remedial action

· Oversee fire & safety systems (alarms, hydrants, extinguishers), conduct drills, and maintain safety training

· Administer security access control and “Banduq” protocols, including managing passes and security staff

· Coordinate vendor/contractor safety & security compliance, permits, risk assessments, and performance

· Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and track safety trends

· Maintain premises / site plan integrity, ensure infrastructure safety and adherence to planning / municipality rules

· Liaise with CICPA / critical infrastructure authorities, maintain permits, and host audits

· Ensure facility’s fire alarm / alert system integration (e.g. Hassantuk) and system health monitoring

· Maintain and generate all HSE / security documentation, reporting, and audit support

· Lead internal audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and embed safety culture

· Engage with governmental authorities, utilities, and regulatory bodies as a point of contact

· Participate in project design and modifications to embed safety & security considerations

· Manage budgets, procurement, and maintenance contracts for safety / security related assets

· Drive leadership, training, awareness, and change toward high safety and security standards

Desired Candidate Profile

To be effective in this role, the candidate should have:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Certifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, or local equivalent; Fire Safety / Fire Fighting certification; First Aid / Emergency Response training.

Experience:

    • Ideally 5–7+ years UAE experience in HSE / Safety roles in FMCG, manufacturing, or industrial settings.
    • Hands-on experience with Civil Defense inspections and approvals.
    • Experience managing security pass systems, vendor / contractor safety oversight.
    • Knowledge of local municipality / zoning / sanitation / drainage / environmental health requirements.
    • Fire safety system design, maintenance, and drills.

Skills:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to prepare reports, take part in audits / inspections.
    • Problem-solving orientation: identify hazards and get things done.
    • Organizational skills to coordinate vendors, multiple inspections, documentation.
    • Leadership and influence: able to engage staff and contractors in safety / security compliance.
