Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and implement preventive measures to minimize recurrence.
- Deliver health and safety training sessions and workshops for employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date records of safety incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project management teams to integrate safety protocols into all phases of project execution.
- Advise management on best practices and emerging trends in occupational health and safety within the power industry.
- Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
- Review and approve safety plans for new installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety engineering role, preferably within the power, utilities, or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of local and international health and safety regulations and standards.
- Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments and implementing safety programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to investigate incidents and develop actionable recommendations.
- Proficiency in preparing and maintaining safety documentation and reports.
- Ability to work on-site and adapt to dynamic operational environments.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, or similar safety training is an advantage.
