Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and implement preventive measures to minimize recurrence.
  • Deliver health and safety training sessions and workshops for employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of safety incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project management teams to integrate safety protocols into all phases of project execution.
  • Advise management on best practices and emerging trends in occupational health and safety within the power industry.
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
  • Review and approve safety plans for new installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety engineering role, preferably within the power, utilities, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments and implementing safety programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven ability to investigate incidents and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency in preparing and maintaining safety documentation and reports.
  • Ability to work on-site and adapt to dynamic operational environments.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR, or similar safety training is an advantage.
