The role of a Healthcare Receptionist is vital in any healthcare setting, as it involves being the first point of contact for patients and visitors. Responsibilities

- Verify patient insurance information and eligibility accurately before appointments.
- Coordinate appointments, including rescheduling or follow-ups, as needed.
- Assist patients with the completion of necessary paperwork and documentation.
- Maintain a clean and tidy reception area to promote a professional atmosphere.
- Utilize electronic medical records to update patient information accurately.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare staff to ensure timely patient care.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries efficiently.
- Process patient payments and manage billing inquiries as required.
- Assist in administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification is an asset.
- Proven experience in a reception or customer service role, preferably in healthcare.
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and healthcare software systems preferred.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask within a busy environment.
- Compassionate and patient-oriented with a professional appearance and attitude.
