Roles & Responsibilities

Heavy Goods Vehicle Driver


Attributions (t ches et responsabilit s):

  • Ensure transport by gathering the delivery/loading slips and addresses.
  • Estimate the amount of fuel needed and the duration of the journey.
  • Ensure that formalities are completed and that traffic and transport regulations are followed.
  • Check the condition of the vehicle's equipment: brakes, steering, horn, mirrors, wheels, tires, suspension, windshield wipers, tie-down devices, etc.
  • Monitor and participate in the loading and unloading of the vehicle using various mechanical handling equipment, such as ramps, cranes, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Distribute the load judiciously and check that the maximum load per axle is not exceeded.
  • Secure the goods, protect them from the elements, and ensure they are not damaged.
  • Driving a truck in highly variable conditions, depending on the nature of the terrain, the roads, the load, the weather conditions, etc.
  • Take care of the administrative formalities: delivery notes, purchase orders, invoices, etc.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, wash it and keep it in good working order_x000D_
  • Perform regular checks and inspections, carry out routine repairs, replace certain defective parts_x000D_
  • In case of breakdown or getting stuck, take effective measures for troubleshooting and urgent repairs.

In terms of QHSE:

  • Respect the general safety instructions and rules in force within the Company, on the road and on the Project site
  • Apply the procedures and rules dictated within the framework of the Integrated Management System
  • Bring appropriate collective and individual protective equipment (CPE and PPE) to the project level
  • Follow the safety instructions provided by the manufacturer, contained in the equipment or machinery's user manual.
  • Check the condition of the equipment before use to ensure there are no defects that could compromise safety and/or the environment, and report any anomalies observed.
  • To operate, handle and use equipment professionally, carefully, and in strict compliance with safety rules.
