Roles & Responsibilities

Job Overview:

The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines within the machine shop, ensuring efficient and safe production of components according to technical specifications. The role involves precision machining, tool handling, and maintaining quality and safety standards at all times. The candidate must have hands-on experience in operating lathes, milling machines, or similar industrial equipment used in shipyard or mechanical workshops.

Job Role & Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor machines such as lathes, milling, drilling, or grinding machines.
  • Set up machines before production and ensure proper alignment and calibration.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job instructions.
  • Machine components and parts to precise tolerances as per specifications.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet required standards and dimensions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure smooth operation.
  • Identify and report mechanical issues or malfunctions to supervisors promptly.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Coordinate with other technicians and supervisors to meet production targets.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company policies.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Machine Operator in a machine shop or industrial setup.
  • Gulf experience preferred.
  • Must have hands-on experience with manual or CNC-operated machines.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and operate measuring instruments (e.g., vernier calipers, micrometers).

Required Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of machining processes and machine shop tools.
  • Good understanding of safety practices and operational procedures.
  • Precision, accuracy, and attention to detail in machining tasks.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet production deadlines.
  • Good teamwork, discipline, and communication skills.
  • Basic English communication; Arabic knowledge is an advantage.
