Blasting and Painting

Job Location: Qatar
Duty Hours: 8 Hours per day
Age Limit: Below 40 Years

Salary: QAR 3,300-3,500 per month


Job Overview:


The Supervisor (Shipwright Department) will be responsible for overseeing all shipwright, blasting, and painting
operations in a marine and shipyard environment. The role requires solid
technical expertise in surface preparation, coating applications, and marine
maintenance procedures. The Supervisor will ensure that all activities are
executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality and industry
standards.

Job Role
& Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate shipwright, blasting,
and painting works within the shipyard.

Plan and assign daily tasks to the team to
ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.

Oversee surface preparation, abrasive blasting,
and paint/coating application on vessels and structures.

Inspect and ensure all work complies with marine
coating specifications and quality standards.

Monitor material usage and ensure all equipment
and safety gear are properly maintained.

Work closely with engineers and project managers
to coordinate work schedules and manpower allocation.

Conduct safety toolbox talks and ensure
adherence to HSE policies.

Maintain daily work records, inspection reports,
and progress updates.

Train and guide workers on proper blasting and
painting techniques.

Ensure compliance with all company and client
quality and safety procedures.



Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Diploma / Degree in Mechanical,
Marine, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 6 - 10 years of experience in
shipwright, blasting, and painting within a marine or shipyard setup.

At least 2 - 3years in a supervisory role with
proven experience in surface preparation and coating systems.

Strong knowledge of marine coatings, blasting
standards, and painting processes.

Gulf or overseas shipyard experience preferred.

Required
Skills:

Strong understanding of blasting and painting
techniques used in marine environments.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
and work specifications.

Leadership and team supervision skills with
hands-on problem-solving ability.

Excellent communication and coordination with
cross-functional teams.

Knowledge of HSE standards and safe working
practices in blasting and painting operations.

Familiarity with coating systems, surface
preparation grades, and inspection tools.

Proficiency in report writing and daily job
tracking.

English communication required; Arabic
preferred.
