Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Lead the development of innovative, inquiry-based teaching and learning strategies in History and I&S.
Support colleagues through coaching, mentoring and professional development, raising standards of teaching across the faculty.
Champion the use of assessment to inform and personalise learning.
Contribute to curriculum design, ensuring rich, challenging and engaging learning experiences.
Teach classes across the MYP and DP with a proven record of securing outstanding outcomes for students.
Required Candidate Profile
Proficient/advanced-level English language skills.
Degree in History, Humanities or a related field, with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE with QTS or equivalent).
Minimum of five years’ teaching experience, with evidence of impact on student achievement.
A proven track record of leading initiatives or mentoring colleagues within a department or school.
Expertise in History or Integrated Individuals & Societies (experience in one or more of Business Studies, Psychology, or Economics would be an advantage).
Experience of teaching both IBDP and MYP is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire students and colleagues alike.
Demonstrates professionalism, enthusiasm, commitment and integrity.
Inter-cultural awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues and families.
