Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As an HPC System Administrator , you will join a team dedicated to the deployment, operation, and optimization of advanced multiphysics simulation platforms.
You will play a key role in managing HPC Linux clusters, installing engineering solvers, automating environments, and resolving complex technical issues related to system performance, security, and availability.
You will be involved in the entire HPC infrastructure lifecycle: installation, configuration, tuning, support, documentation, automation, and continuous improvement.
This position is for an expert passionate about Linux environments, HPC, and supporting engineering teams.
Desired Candidate Profile
Formation :
- Master's degree (Bac+5) in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electronics, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical field oriented towards systems.
Exp rience :
- Exp rience significative en administration HPC ou Linux System Administration.
- Advanced practice of:
- Linux (build, configuration, command-line administration),
- source code compilation,
- scripting Bash.
- Desired experience in:
- Python / Perl scripting,
- administration de syst mes de scheduling (Slurm, PBS ),
- Installation of CAE/Simulation software (Ansys, Abaqus, Nastran),
- containers Singularity.
Technical skills: HPC cluster management:
- Installation, configuration, tuning, maintenance and upgrade of:
- Clusters HPC Linux (compute & storage),
- syst mes de scheduling (Slurm, Altair PBS...),
- Engineering applications and solvers :
- Ansys
- MSC Nastran
- Abaqus
- etc.
- Diagnosis, isolation and resolution of application and system incidents.
- Coordination with suppliers for hardware/software support.
- Automatisation avanc e via scripts (Bash, Python/Perl).
- Drafting procedures, documenting operations.
- Implementation of good HPC usage practices.
- Monitoring and maintaining the security of HPC environments .
Linux server management:
- Installation, configuration and optimization of Linux servers dedicated to simulation tools.
- Management :
- Authentication servers (NIS),
- Internal HPC/VDI automation platforms.
Behavioral skills:
- Strong ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems.
- Autonomy, rigor and a sense of documentation.
- Excellent technical communication skills.
- Go t pronounced for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (Engineering, IT, Cybersecurity).
- Ability to work in critical environments and subject to performance requirements.
- Curiosity, proactivity and a willingness to continuously improve HPC platforms.
