Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Policy Implementation: Assist in the implementation of the company's HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems on the project site.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct daily site inspections and regular audits to identify and report potential hazards, unsafe acts, and non-compliance issues.
  • Permit to Work: Manage the "Permit to Work" system, ensuring all high-risk activities are properly planned and authorized.
  • Incident Investigation: Participate in and conduct initial investigations of all on-site incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Assist the HSE Manager in preparing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions.
  • Safety Training: Conduct regular toolbox talks, safety inductions for new workers, and on-site training sessions to promote safety awareness among the workforce.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain detailed records and prepare reports on HSE performance, including daily safety briefings, incident logs, and inspection checklists.
  • Emergency Response: Assist in the maintenance and implementation of site-specific emergency response plans and participate in emergency drills.
  • Hazard Identification: Proactively identify potential risks and hazards on the project site and work with the project team to develop and implement risk mitigation measures.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications:
    NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent is essential.
    OSHA certifications are preferred.
  • Experience:
    Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in HSE, with at least 3 years in the UAE construction and infrastructure industry.
    Proven experience working on large-scale infrastructure or building projects.
    Demonstrated knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and standards.
  • Skills:
    Strong observational and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and communicate with a diverse workforce.
    Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and on-site inspections.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding site environment.
    Fluent in written and spoken English; knowledge of Arabic, Hindi, or other common languages in the UAE is a significant advantage.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
