Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct continuous inspections of project sites to ensure a safe and hazard-free working environment.
- Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety policies, guidelines, and programs.
- Organize emergency drills and safety exercises for site personnel.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend preventive measures.
- Ensure timely submission of safety reports to relevant government authorities.
- Address and respond to workers health and safety concerns.
- Liaise with government departments and regulatory authorities on safety matters.
- Coordinate the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
- Participate in project planning meetings and collaborate with construction managers to integrate HSE practices.
- Establish and maintain effective health and safety communication systems across project sites.
- Test and review the effectiveness of site emergency response plans.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and HSE standards, including mandated workplace testing by external agencies.
- Implement incident prevention strategies aligned with industry best practices and HSE benchmarks.
- Conduct risk assessments for potentially hazardous operations and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
- Ensure availability of safety materials, including signages, posters, hazard flashers, and related equipment.
- Train and ensure workforce awareness on emergency procedures, including firefighting, use of fire extinguishers, first aid equipment, and emergency contacts.
- Identify non-compliance issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate HSE documentation and records in line with company and regulatory standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
Relevant HSE certifications (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
Minimum 2 - 3 years of HSE experience in construction or industrial projects.
Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and international safety standards.
Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
