Roles & Responsibilities

Desired Candidate Profile

• Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies for the project, ensuring alignment with local Iraqi regulations and international best practices.
• Identify potential HSE risks during construction, installation, and commissioning phases, particularly with equipment such as compressors, pressure vessels, coolers, pump packages, and control systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and project-specific requirements.
• Lead investigations of accidents or near-miss incidents, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs for all site personnel, focusing on safety procedures related to compressors, pressure vessels, cabling, and other critical equipment.
• Ensure the project meets all HSE regulations and standards as required by Iraqi law and international guidelines, particularly for oil and gas projects.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring that site personnel are fully prepared to respond to potential emergencies.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, audits, and inspections, and report regularly to senior management on HSE performance, challenges, and improvements.
• Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure alignment on HSE standards and requirements.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in HSE management, with years of experience in Iraq, ideally in the oil and gas sector.

Skills & Knowledge:

• In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations in Iraq and international standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Proven experience in managing HSE activities for projects involving compressors, pressure vessels, pump packages, and other oil and gas equipment.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, hazard identification, and safety audit processes.
• Ability to work in challenging environments and manage multi-disciplinary teams.
