Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSE policies and procedures tailored to the organization's specific operational risks.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
- Lead and facilitate HSE training programs to enhance employees' awareness and competence in safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Analyze incident reports to identify trends and develop proactive strategies to mitigate risks and prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with management to integrate HSE considerations into business planning and operational decision-making processes.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting of HSE-related incidents and compliance issues.
- Promote a culture of safety by engaging employees at all levels and encouraging participation in HSE initiatives and discussions.
- Maintain thorough documentation of HSE activities, including policies, training records, and incident investigations for compliance and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of HSE programs through performance metrics, reporting, and continuous feedback loops.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new regulations, and best practices to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of HSE excellence.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is essential.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in HSE management, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industries.
- Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly regarded and often required.
- Experience in developing and implementing HSE management systems aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques is a must.
- Strong understanding of local and international HSE regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English, with additional languages being a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to influence change across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to effectively address HSE challenges and devise innovative solutions.
- A proactive and resilient attitude, with the physical capability to conduct site inspections and audits in various environments.
