Roles & Responsibilities

HSE MANAGER

To ensure timely review and implementation of Al Ashram Safe Operations Procedures Manual (SOP) under general administrative direction, to provide overall management, operational support and leadership and develop effective and efficient programs and best practices that ensure a safe environment and improve the safety and health of employees.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review, implement, and oversee the execution of Al Ashram's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures.
  2. Conduct and attend executive walkdowns, site inspections, and management safety tours to assess HSE performance, identify gaps, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  3. Prepare and submit corporate HSE statistics and performance reports to the management.
  4. Monitors, inspects, communicates and verifies the status of HSE related activities, non-conformance reports and corrective actions and provide feedback to managers.
  5. Conduct HSE incident investigations and implement actions to prevent recurrence.
  6. Monitor HSE reporting and audit processes, and track and analyze relevant performance data.
  7. Actively participates in internal audits and inspections including planning, preparation, executive, reporting results and follow ups. Complies with the Internal requirements in the HO and projects.
  8. Generate monthly HSE reports and performance reviews to Management with recommendations for improvement, carrying out any necessary improvement projects.
  9. Provides technical support on problematic and hazardous conditions.
  10. Ensure effective HSE systems are in place to support safe project execution while maintaining full compliance with regulatory and corporate guidelines.
  11. Develop and maintain effective HSE communication processes to ensure safety priorities and performance are clearly visible.
  12. Prepare tender related HSE documents, tender clarification on HSE part and submit in a timely manner.
  13. Supports Estimation/Cost Control functions to conclude HSE Budget for projects at the tendering and prior to execution.
  14. Provides technical Support to HSE and Project team.

Key Skills and Competencies:


  • 15 + years experience working experience in well-established Contracting Companies in GCC.
  • Knowledge of OHS&E standards, Operational hazards and controls, International HSE standards.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills in order to interact with all levels of the business.
  • Ability to accept direction and complete work independently, demonstrating confidence and conviction with the ability to intervene at all times.
  • Ability to carry out risk assessments and provide improvement recommendations.
  • NEBOSH certificate holder.
  • Qualified Internal Auditor for OSH&E standards.
  • Diploma in OH&S preferred.
