Roles & Responsibilities

Main responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the project HSSE Management System in line with the HSSE Plan, ensuring all requirements are actively managed and adhered to.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce HSSE procedures, including those specific to wind turbine installation, heavy lifting, and high-altitude work, while ensuring effective communication and awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal permits, applicable legislation, and international standards (e.g., ISO 45001 and ISO 14001), supporting their interpretation and application across the project.
  • Act as the key liaison with authorities and stakeholders on HSSE matters, providing regular reporting on HSSE performance, incidents, and key performance indicators.
  • Support continuous improvement of the HSSE program and documentation, ensuring effective implementation across project activities.
  • Manage and coordinate HSSE personnel (internal and contractors), fostering a strong safety culture and communication systems that encourage hazard identification and worker participation.
  • Monitoring site safety by ensuring risk assessments are conducted and applied, participating in planning and progress meetings, and maintaining proper documentation of HSSE activities and nonconformities.
  • Lead incident reporting, investigations, training, audits, and emergency preparedness activities, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and a proactive safety culture is maintained.

Qualifications and competencies

  • Bachelor s degree in engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of HSSE experience within construction, including at least 5 years in a managerial role; experience in wind energy projects is highly preferred.
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent certification is considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge or certification in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, as well as GWO (Global Wind Organisation) safety training, is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities with the ability to drive a proactive safety culture across projects.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Minimum 10 years of HSSE experience within construction, including at least 5 years in a managerial role; experience in wind energy projects is highly preferred.
