Job description:

1. Job Purpose

The HVAC T&C Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) and final commissioning of HVAC systems to ensure they meet the original design intent, local UAE regulations, and international standards (e.g., ASHRAE)

.2. Key Responsibilities

  • Site Inspections & Pre-Commissioning: Conduct site "walk-downs" to verify that installations (Ducting, Piping, FCUs, AHUs, and Chillers) match the Issued For Construction (IFC) drawings.

  • System Testing: Perform pressure testing, duct leakage testing, water flushing, and chemical cleaning.

  • TAB Activities: Measure and balance air and water flow rates using calibrated instruments (anemometers, manometers, etc.) to achieve design specifications.

  • BMS Integration: Coordinate with the Building Management System (BMS) team to verify point-to-point testing and sequence of operations (SOO).

  • Compliance & Handover: Prepare detailed T&C reports, method statements, and punch lists for consultant approval and final project handover.

  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve mechanical and control-related deficiencies on-site to minimize project delays.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience specifically in HVAC Testing and Commissioning within the UAE.

  • License: A valid UAE Driving License is mandatory to facilitate travel between project sites.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Chilled Water Systems, District Cooling, VRF/DX systems, and UAE-specific codes (e.g., Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defense).

  • Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and HVAC Load Calculation software (e.g., Carrier HAP).

  • Language: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills for reporting and client coordination.

Preferred Attributes

  • Proven track record of handing over large-scale residential, commercial, or industrial projects in the UAE.

  • Familiarity with LEED or Estidama commissioning requirements.

  • Strong leadership skills to manage site technicians and subcontractors.
