Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Essential Skills:
- IB Mathematics Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of IB MYP and/or DP Mathematics curriculum, including applications and interpretation, analysis and approaches
- Inquiry-Based Pedagogy: Proven ability to deliver engaging, student-centred lessons using IB approaches to teaching and learning
- Conceptual Understanding: Skills in developing students mathematical thinking, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding rather than procedural knowledge alone
- Assessment Practices: Experience with IB internal and external assessment criteria, including personal project supervision and extended essay guidance
- Differentiated Instruction: Ability to challenge high-achieving students whilst supporting diverse learning needs
- Academic Rigour: Strong subject knowledge across pure and applied mathematics suitable for university preparation
- Technology Integration: Competence in using mathematical software and digital tools to enhance learning outcomes
- Cultural Adaptability: Flexibility and enthusiasm for working in an international, multicultural environment
- Communication Excellence: Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues
- Professional Development: Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with IB best practices and mathematical education research
Desired Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years experience teaching IB Mathematics (MYP and/or DP)
- Strong knowledge of IB curriculum frameworks and assessment criteria
