Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will join the Capgemini Engineering teams specializing in the automotive industry. You will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components for innovative vehicles. Your role will involve working on technical projects while adhering to established processes and collaborating closely with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components related to glazing (windscreen, side windows, quarter windows, etc.) while respecting project standards and requirements.
- Carry out technical studies and 3D modeling, as well as the validation of 2D plans.
- Ensure the updating of technical data and design documents in PLM tools.
- Ensure the conformity of parts with quality, safety and robustness standards.
- Collaborating with project teams to integrate mechanical solutions into vehicle architecture.
- Participate in technical reviews and feasibility analyses.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of design processes and innovation in the field of glazing
Required skills:
- Expertise in supplier management and monitoring of the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process on the Glazing and Cowl Grid perimeters .
- Solid experience in mechanical design applied to automotive glazing systems and associated components.
- Mastery of CAD tools, especially CATIA V5/V6 , for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Good knowledge of materials and processes related to glazing and bay grids (cowl grid).
- Understanding of quality processes and standards in the automotive industry.
- Ability to manage suppliers, analyze technical feasibility and ensure the conformity of deliverables.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with project teams and external partners.
- Responsiveness and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment
- Soft Skills & Communication:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (French and English).
- Ability to work in a team within a multicultural environment.
- Rigour, analytical mind and autonomy.
- Ability to collaborate with different professions and participate in technical meetings.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bac +5 degree or equivalent in mechanics.
- Proven experience ( minimum 5 years ) in the automotive sector, ideally in mechanical design applied to exterior equipment, glazing, cowl grids, interior equipment, mechanical design, supplier management, project management, APQP
