I need help bringing order to a growing library of images. Your main task will be to enter and maintain detailed metadata for each file and make sure everything is stored in our database under the correct filename. Scope • Receive batches of JPEG and PNG files (around 8–10 GB in total) via shared cloud folders. • For every image, capture key metadata—title, brief description, keywords, source, photographer credit, usage rights, and any custom fields I specify—and enter it into our MySQL table (or a well-structured CSV if you prefer to work offline first). • Verify the filename is the single source of truth for record matching, so consistency is critical. • Spot-check previous entries to prevent duplicates, and flag any corrupted or suspicious files. • Deliver a progress report after each batch with record counts, issues found, and fixes applied. What will help you succeed • Solid data-entry track record with image collections, preferably using Excel, Google Sheets, or a direct MySQL client. • Familiarity with EXIF/XMP viewers or bulk tagging tools like Adobe Bridge or ExifTool—handy but not mandatory. • A keen eye for detail (I’m aiming for ≥ 99 % accuracy). • Reliable internet for large uploads/downloads and the ability to keep communication clear and timely. Deliverables 1. Clean, verified database (or CSV) with complete metadata for all images. 2. A simple written summary of work completed, including any anomalies or recommendations for improved structure going forward. I’ll provide a template, tagging guidelines, and sample records before we start.
