Position Objective:

Manage and Supervise the Vendors and Contractor's delivery of Civil Mechanical & Electronic infrastructure of a Telecom Service provider to meet the Project objectives of time, cost and quality.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

• Work as part of a proactive Project Management and supervision team to facilitate the completion of a national network rollout.
• Report to the Head of Delivery and work closely with other team members and project stakeholders.
• Ensure that all stakeholders responsible for the provision of Civil Mechanical & Electronic infrastructure are aware of the Project schedule.
• Manage, track and report the progress of Civil Mechanical & Electronic infrastructure implementation against project milestones.
• Manage key Civil Mechanical & Electronic infrastructure stakeholder deliveries, as well as other parties responsible for CME implementation.
• Collaborate with the PMO to ensure that Civil Mechanical & Electronic infrastructure implementation schedules are aligned and integrated with the Rollout Plan.
• Establish project management processes to ensure that all Civil Mechanical & Electronic infrastructure implementation risks, issues and delays are identified, recorded, communicated, and mitigated.
• Provide a quality assurance role for all Civil and electro-mechanical works on site, verifying that approved specifications are available, and the Vendor has instigated a Quality Control function.
• Verify the quality of CME designs submitted by the Vendor, and ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and best practices.
• For new sites provide advice and recommendations on construction quality (tower assembly, general build quality, and all related mechanical constructs, and ensure compliance of design with requirements and specifications.
• Provide technical and management expertise to support the CME acceptance of the sites.
• Take an active involvement in resolving blocking issues, working with the Contractors and Vendors to resolve potential delays.
• Conduct regular progress meetings with all stakeholders.
• Review proposals for off-grid power solutions; establish guidelines for deployment of diesel generators, batteries and alternative solutions.
• Verify power backup dimensions for various site types.
• Oversee civil work for backhaul connectivity.
• Provide progress and quality reports and recommendations daily to the Program Manager and client.
• Provide technical support to field engineers for CME aspects.
• Provide advice and assist the site supervision teams on CME-related critical
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to local team members to ensure that skills are developed within the local team as the Project progresses.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in implementation and design in the Telecoms industry, with at least 5 years in a project management role.
• Experience of large Network Rollout Projects.
• Experience with site sharing and Tower lease arrangements.
• Experience and knowledge of power requirements for different site types.
• Technical knowledge of telecom tower construction practices, and electro-mechanical site facilities (power systems, monitoring systems, lightning protection and grounding, etc.)
• Ability to interpret, evaluate, amend and update typical engineering drawings.
• Good command of written and spoken English. Essential soft skills: Teamwork, Communication skills; self-motivated with minimum supervision
• Excellent knowledge and experience in data analysis using Microsoft Excel, Prepare Management Reports, Dashboards and PowerPoint presentations.
