Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate closely with teachers and external professionals to support effective learning strategies for students with additional learning needs.

Provide tailored academic support to help designated students access the British curriculum and ASDAN awards to engage fully in all aspects of school life.

Assist students in understanding and following instructions, fostering independence and confidence in their learning.

Support students who experience communication difficulties or for whom English is an additional language.

Adapt learning activities to respond to individual student needs and requirements.

Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of personalised learning and development activities.

Contribute to the creation of a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

Support pupils in their emotional, behavioural and social development, working in line with agreed strategies and student support plans.

Participate in the development and implementation of pupil profiles and Documented Learner Plans (formally IEPs)

Maintain effective communication with teaching staff, parents and other stakeholders to support student academic and holistic progress.

Supervise students during educational visits, after-school clubs and break times as required.


REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

A-Level / NVQ / High School Certificate (or equivalent)

Minimum Experience

At least 2 years of experience supporting students with additional learning needs in a school setting

Skills and Attributes

Must be bi-lingual (English and Arabic) with an ability to speak, understand and communicate effectively in both languages.

Passionate about student support and well-being

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Professionalism and a positive, collaborative approach

Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and inclusive practices

Adaptability and solution-focused mindset

Willing to complete CPD opportunities- Including attending online training related to ASDAN and other alternative curriculums
