Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive workplace inspections and assessments in Kuwait to identify occupational health hazards such as noise, fumes, dust, chemicals, and ergonomic risks.
  • Monitor and evaluate employee exposure to chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards using appropriate sampling and analysis methods.
  • Recommend and implement control measures to reduce or eliminate identified hazards.
  • Develop, maintain, and support the implementation of industrial hygiene programs, policies, and procedures across all Kuwait operations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Weatherford policies, and internationally recognized occupational health guidelines.
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions for employees and management on occupational health hazards, controls, and preventive measures.
  • Participate in investigations of occupational health-related incidents and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and documentation related to industrial hygiene monitoring and interventions.
  • Collaborate with local and regional HSE teams to foster continuous improvement in occupational health practices in Kuwait.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, methodologies, and international standards (e.g., ACGIH, OSHA, NIOSH).
  • Familiarity with occupational health hazards (chemical, physical, biological, ergonomic).
  • Skilled in workplace exposure assessment, risk evaluation, and the use of industrial hygiene monitoring tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with employees and management in Kuwait s multicultural work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industrial hygiene-related software/tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development in the field of industrial hygiene.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science,
    OR a Diploma in Industrial Hygiene from a recognized institution (preferred),
    OR a Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Nursing, along with a Diploma in Industrial Hygiene from a recognized training body.
  • At least 5 years of relevant industrial hygiene experience, preferably within the oil & gas, manufacturing, or construction sectors in Kuwait or the GCC region.
  • Completion of at least one certified Industrial Hygiene (IH) course meeting the criteria of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH),
    OR at least one training module from the Bureau of Occupational Safety & Health (BOSH) or the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA).
  • Valid First Aider certification as per HE.004 is mandatory.
