Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

At Eni, we are looking for an Ingenieur Production (Artificial Lift Engineer) within Groupement Sonatrach Eni in Algeria. You will be responsible for managing all activities related to the preparation, installation and maintenance of artificial lift systems in the field, ensuring the overall technical integrity of these systems while driving continuous performance analysis and optimisation, providing effective troubleshooting support, and contributing to tendering processes and technical evaluations.

Your employment contract will be managed by Eni International Resources Ltd (EIRL).

Main responsibilities

  • Liaise with Drilling & Completion, Reservoir and Production teams to optimise artificial lift system installations
  • Continuously monitor ESP performance (actual performance vs design) and detect any decline or potential issues before they escalate (e.g. sand ingress, scale formation, etc.)
  • Keep track of the latest technologies available on the market and recommend the most promising solutions to improve quality and reduce time
  • Participate in all artificial lift failure analyses to identify ESP failure root causes and propose and implement improvement actions in design, operating practices and downhole injection programmes
  • Continuously update the PROSPER model for each artificial lift well to ensure systems operate within the recommended range
  • Prepare, follow up and technically evaluate proposals during the tendering process for artificial lift and completion activities
  • Prepare equipment forecasts, delivery plans and place material orders accordingly
  • Coordinate start-up, restart and troubleshooting operations, providing technical support to field personnel
  • Regularly report to and update the Artificial Lift HQ team on ongoing and planned activities through periodic reports
  • Ensure the company database tool ALCE (Artificial Lift Census) is kept up to date

Skills and experience required

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Extensive experience in completion and artificial lift engineering
  • Completion Activities: Completion and workover operations, well testing, gravel pack, gas lift, submersible pumps, dual completion, perforating techniques, and completion & workover experience
  • Economics (General): Cost estimating, budgeting, cost analysis and cost control
  • Contracting: Definition of contract strategies, variations and claim resolution
  • Technical Specifications & Bidding: Technical specification preparation, understanding of technological market evolution, knowledge of specific suppliers and contractor markets, development of technical standards, and technical evaluation of tenders
