Job Description: Instructional Developer – Mathematics & Physics
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified professional in Mathematics and Physics education to join our curriculum development team. The Instructional Developer will design and develop high-quality academic and technical training content to support aviation and naval technical programs, particularly within the framework of City & Guilds Level 3 Diplomas. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across instructional design, assurance, and subject matter domains to ensure the curriculum meets pedagogical, technical, and industry-aligned standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Design and develop instructional materials and courseware for Mathematics and Physics, with applications relevant to aviation and naval environments.
· Ensure curriculum aligns with Systems Approach to Training (SAT)/Instructional Systems Development (ISD) methodologies and customer specifications.
· Create teaching and learning content using tools such as Autograph 3D, Equation Editor, Active Inspire, FX Draw, and iSpring.
· Utilize HTML and LaTeX to format mathematical and scientific content, including exam questions and instructional resources.
· Develop and implement experiments to complement physics instruction, especially with real-world aviation contexts.
· Design a range of mathematics laboratory activities aligned with City & Guilds Level 3 standards.
· Convert PowerPoint lessons into instructional videos, integrating voiceovers via software tools.
· Collaborate with Chief Instructors, Senior Instructors, and SMEs to review and refine content.
· Participate in quality assurance activities and continuous improvement reviews of curriculum and training materials.
· Support the transition to new technical training frameworks and curriculum modernization efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
· Master’s or PhD in Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
· Recognized instructor qualification with at least 4 years of teaching or instructional development experience.
· Proven experience in curriculum development or instructional design, particularly in technical/vocational education.
· Working knowledge of SAT/ISD processes and educational design principles.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and educational software including FX Draw, iSpring, and Autograph 3D.
· Proficiency in HTML and LaTeX for rendering technical and mathematical content.
· English language proficiency at IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (within the last 2 years, for non-native speakers).
· Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, work independently, and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
· Strong attention to detail, quality-focused, and able to align deliverables with academic and industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience developing content for City & Guilds Level 3 Diplomas or equivalent technical certifications.
· Familiarity with modern aviation and defense-related education contexts.
· Knowledge of competency-based training design and assessment.
· Experience in integrating e-learning tools and blended instructional models.
