Faculty Recruitment in the Field of Optometry

The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Balamand (UOB), Lebanon, is launching a new degree in the field of Optometry and as such invites applicants for full-time faculty appointments in the field of Optometry at the level of Instructor and Assistant/Associate/Full Professor.

The University of Balamand is dedicated to graduating professionals who are well-rounded, critical thinkers, life-long learners, and active citizens in their respective societies. The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Health Sciences, including Public Health, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nursing, and Nutritional Sciences, with pre-medical tracks to medical school. Optometry was recently approved and is added as the 5th academic program at FHS. Programs are offered on three campuses: Beirut, Koura, and Souk El Gharb. The language of instruction is English.

The Faculty encourages multidisciplinary teamwork, research, and collaboration with different academic institutions, university teaching hospitals, and clinical settings A number of academic positions are currently open for faculty with Masters and Ph.D. degrees in the field of Optometry.

The successful candidates are expected to teach in the undergraduate program, supervise students in labs, and clinical settings, engage in interdisciplinary research, and undertake community-based activities. Masters and PhD-holder faculty with expertise in optometry are welcome to apply. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
