Position Title: Instrument Technician / Senior Instrument Technician
Industry: Power Generation – Combined Cycle Power Plant

Control Systems: Emerson Ovation DCS / Siemens T3000

Job Purpose

To carry out operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and testing of instrumentation and control systems in a Combined Cycle Power Plant, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of field instruments related to:

  • Gas Turbine (GT)

  • Steam Turbine (ST)

  • Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG)

  • Balance of Plant (BOP)

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Ovation DCS or Siemens T3000 systems.

• Diagnose and rectify faults in:

  • Pressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments

  • Control valves, actuators, positioners

  • Analyzers (gas, water, steam)

• Carry out loop checking, functional testing, calibration, and commissioning activities.

• Support plant startups, shutdowns, and emergency operations.

• Interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, logic diagrams, and cause & effect charts.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports using CMMS.

• Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and HSE standards.

• Coordinate with operations, electrical, and mechanical teams for integrated maintenance activities.

• Supervise technicians (for Senior Technician role) and guide junior staff.

• Liaise with OEMs and contractors during major maintenance and outages.
