Role & responsibilities
Leads the Engineer, Supervisor, Foreman, and work crews in all activitiesconcerned with Blasting, Painting, Insulation, Scaffolding, Fireproofing and Refractory Takes appropriate mitigating action to ensure compliance with the plan, based on knowledge of available labor, equipment, and materials, and in cooperation with the Planning Engineer and project management. Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, following policies, procedures, and work practices, and developing improvements where necessary. Evaluate construction safety, health, and environmental risks on campus and ensure on-site safety and health compliance. Competent in reading and understanding specifications, drawings, and all other discipline-related project and engineering documentation. Familiar with and enforces strict compliance with all QA/QC and Safety procedures, plus all Company rules and regulations. Commands respect of supervisor, foreman, skilled labor, and discipline workforce, and develops excellent working relationships with all other department personnel as well as client management Lead and motivate staff towards a common goal or objective. Excellent communication skills, instructions, and transfer of knowledge in an efficient and effective way at all levels, client, management, supervisor, coworkers, and staff. Liaises with other discipline staff to ensure the optimum interface of the various operational activities, with the 3 overall objectives of successful completion of the project. Cost control and monitor the manhours booking and expenses through project duration to be with in limit of project budget Understanding the principles and importance of planning. Monitoring and tracks daily progress and work completed, comparing planned to actual Ensure the supervisor and foreman understand and implement the work plan, by explaining and engaging in proactive communication with the crews. Managing the production of the required deliverables Planning and monitoring the project. Adopting any delegation and use of project assurance roles within agreed reporting structures. Preparing and maintaining project, stage and exception plans as required. Managing project risks, including the development of contingency plans Monitoring overall progress and use of resources, initiating corrective action where necessary Applying change control and configuration management processes Reporting through agreed lines on project progress through highlight reports and end-stage assessments. Liaison with appointed project assurance representatives to assure the overall direction and integrity of the project. Maintaining an awareness of potential interdependencies with other projects and their impact. Adopting and applying appropriate technical and quality strategies and standards. Identifying and obtaining support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project. Managing project administration. Conducting a project evaluation review to assess how well the project was managed Preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly look-ahead plans for the painting/blasting works of the project, in close liaison with construction and planning. Review the quantities of materials received or used during specified periods, to minimize wastage and inefficiency. Co-ordinate with the Workshop Supervisor, QC Engineer, Planning Engineer, and Store for the Daily Fabrication, and Painting & Blasting activities. Ensure the proper usage of the materials, and equipment and improve methods required for cost saving/cost reduction in accordance with budgets. Ensure that all work is in conformity with standards and specifications. Interpret specifications and discusses deviations from specified procedures to ensure full compliance with QA/QC inspection plans and procedures. Comply with the highest level of safety during all stages of project execution to avoid any type of incidents and or accidents. Comply with all statutory requirements connected with the implementation of the project. Assist in the proper closeout of the project including the transmittal of final documentation to the client. Identify and implement on-the-job training programs with the aim of developing and improving team members competency in required skills and abilities
