The roles and responsibilities of an insurance telecaller include making outbound calls to prospective and existing clients, explaining insurance products, answering queries, and generating leads to meet sales targets. They also need to maintain accurate customer records, follow up on leads, and provide excellent customer service.

Key Skills and Competencies Excellent Verbal Communication: The ability to articulate complex insurance policies and their benefits clearly and concisely is essential. Persuasion & Negotiation Skills: Candidates must be able to influence potential customers' decisions, handle objections professionally, and close sales deals to meet targets. Active Listening: A customer-centric approach that involves understanding customer needs and providing suitable solutions, rather than just reading a script. Resilience & Positive Attitude: The capacity to handle rejection and work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment while remaining motivated. Basic Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using essential applications like MS Office and customer relationship management (CRM) software for accurate data entry and record-keeping is required. Product Knowledge (Insurance): A good understanding of various health, life, or general insurance products and industry regulations is a significant advantage. Time Management & Organization: The ability to manage high call volumes, prioritize tasks, and follow up with leads consistently to maximize productivity. Educational and Experience Background Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum requirement, with a bachelor's degree often preferred by employers. Experience: While freshers with strong communication skills are sometimes considered, prior experience (typically 6 months to 2 years) in telecalling, telesales, BPO, or customer service is highly valued. Language Proficiency: Fluency in relevant regional languages in addition to English/Hindi is often a requirement, depending on the target market. Desired Personality Traits Self-Motivated & Disciplined: The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team with minimal supervision. Empathetic & Approachable: Building rapport and trust over the phone requires a professional and understanding demeanor. Problem-Solving Abilities: The capability to think spontaneously and resolve customer issues related to policies or claims efficiently.
