Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Trade physical commodities including manganese ore, nickel ore/concentrate, bauxite, iron ore, chromite, and gold in international markets.
- Analyze global supply-demand fundamentals, price benchmarks, freight trends, and geopolitical factors impacting metallic mineral markets.
- Develop new sourcing channels and sales markets; negotiate spot and term contracts with international counterparties.
- Structure and negotiate commercial terms including pricing formulas, quality specifications, Incoterms, volumes, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
- Manage end-to-end trade execution including contracts, logistics coordination, shipping, documentation, insurance, and final settlement.
- Monitor and manage market price risk, credit exposure, counterparty risk, and operational risk; implement hedging strategies where applicable.
- Collaborate closely with logistics, operations, finance, legal, and compliance teams to ensure smooth trade execution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mining companies, smelters, refiners, traders, brokers, and shipping providers.
- Track trade performance and prepare P&L analysis, market reports, and management updates.
- Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, sanctions, ESG requirements, and internal risk policies.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Established global network with mines, traders, smelters, refiners, and end users.
- Experience in both spot trading and long-term offtake agreements.
- Knowledge of derivatives, futures, and hedging strategies for metals and gold.
- Familiarity with sustainability standards, ESG compliance, and responsible sourcing practices.
- Strong product knowledge across manganese, nickel, bauxite, iron ore, chromite, and/or gold including quality parameters and pricing benchmarks.
- Proven experience in negotiating and executing complex international commodity trade contracts.
- Solid understanding of Incoterms, trade finance instruments (LCs, SBLCs), and bulk shipping logistics.
- Strong commercial judgment with a disciplined approach to risk management.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and market intelligence platforms such as Bloomberg or Refinitiv.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
