Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Source polymers from global suppliers and negotiate trade terms (FOB/CIF).
  • Identify buying opportunities in high-demand regions and close profitable deals.
  • Manage supplier and customer credit exposure using trade finance tools.
  • Build and manage international agent/distributor relationships.
  • Coordinate shipping, payment, and performance monitoring for each trade.
  • Stay updated on polymer price indexes (ICIS, Platts) and market arbitrage trends.
  • Collaborate with finance and risk departments on LC, CAD, and open-account deals.
  • Prepare weekly trading reports and profit tracking per deal.

KPIs

  • Monthly trading turnover (USD & MT)
  • Average gross profit margin (%)
  • Deal closing cycle time
  • Number of active suppliers and customers
  • Collection efficiency

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in international polymer trading (polyolefins, PET, PVC, etc.).
  • Experience handling supplier accounts from Middle East, Asia, or Europe.
  • Deep understanding of global polymer pricing and trade finance instruments.
  • Fluent English; other languages (Hindi, Chinese, French) preferred.
