inventory and Cost Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of inventory accounting, including tracking, reconciliation, and reporting of inventory balances.
• Analyze and monitor cost accounting data to ensure accurate product costing and inventory valuation.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory and cost reports for management review.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate inventory records and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts, investigating and reconciling variances.
• Develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize losses.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to inventory and cost of goods sold.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to inventory and costing.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management and cost accounting practices.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of inventory management systems and cost accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
